Mike Tyson, former heavyweight champion boxer and now cannabis influencer have teamed up with former rival, Evander Holyfield, to release “Holy Ears”, ear-shaped edibles for the Holidays. In their famous fight, Mike Tyson bit off Holyfield’s ear–literally–creating a story, rivalry, and sports moment that has lived on forever.
Well, now they are joining forces to create a product for all of us to enjoy. They are available via Tyson Global 2.0. Tyson said that “If I was on cannabis, I probably wouldn’t have bitten his ear off”–I guess hindsight is 20/20, huh Iron Mike? Either way, this is a perfect example of how branding and using a story can sell a product.
Edibles all have the same end goal–getting the consumer high or helping with a medical ailment–but why buy this one, compared to that one? Well, in the case of the Holy Ears, they tell a story and help us relive a moment in time. It’s a novelty product and a very smart collaboration.
