Firefighter Fired For Medical Marijuana Use In Buffalo Is Rehired After Settlement

A firefighter in Buffalo who was fired for testing positive for marijuana while on the job has sued the state and won his benefits and job back.

Scott Martin, a Buffalo-based firefighter, filed a wrongful termination lawsuit with the state, as he is a medical marijuana card holder, and was using his medicine before work, which did not sit well with the powers at be. After he was let go, he sued for his job back—and won.
